I was delighted to see this image appear on my Facebook timeline earlier this morning:
The key words in that image are “Alan Baird Project” and “Final Show.” This means that after all these years, they’re finally breaking up. Done. Kaput.
In a normal situation, I would take the high road and not gloat about things like this. But this is the Alan Baird Project, and if you think for a single second that I’m going to take the high road over the demise of a band whose bassist brags about committing statutory rape and whose lead singer decided to end a seven year friendship and whose fanbase tried to get this very blog taken down over the simple fact that I had the audacity to befriend the lovely, charming, talented folks of Reviving Cecilia, well, you are out of your Goddamned mind.
Instead, I’m going to take a page out of the book of Bryan Danielson, a man I respect and admire. Now where’s my metal remix of Ride of the Valkyries?
YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES!
