Web Site Update!

Hello everyone. It's been awhile since my last update. I got an article coming up pretty soon for the Patreon backers, and I'm starting to come out of my emotional funk that I've been mired in long before I lost my dog, so look forward to me remembering to do fun things with this website for the 30th time.

Anyways, the real point of this post is there's been some rumblings as of late. People are slowly coming to the realization that smart people like me figured out two years ago: it's probably a bad idea to continue using and supporting a fascist website. Maybe not the best thing to give Elon Musk eight dollars a month just so you can have the privilege of being Star-Bellied Sneeches on the Racism App. Golly, maybe directly endorsing an algorithm that pushes straight up, full blown, zero dogwhistle white supremacy and holocaust denial is a bad look. So where are people going to go now to keep in touch with each other? Bluesky? Threads? Cohost (lol)? Google+? That's the discussion. I also reckon a few people might be curious where I am going to go. I have no plans to join any new social media site. Instead of jumping onto a new platform that will either die a death or will lead to the death of a real human being, I am instead bringing back an old platform.

See, back in The Day, if people wanted to get in touch with one another, we would use our computers to send long-form letters to one another. Electronic Mail, they called it. E-Mail, for short. Now that it's no longer 2016, and I don't have to live in absolute paranoia about revealing any contact info about myself, I've set up a new E-Mail address specifically for people to talk to me, and vice versa. It's already on the sidebar, but I'll post it right here too: webmaster AT lonelyfrontier DOT net. Have to format it that way so spam bots don't click a link and clog my inbox with bullshit

I hate, hate, hate, hate, hate this new internet that we all have to use. I'm trying my best to get people back into the old ways. No character limits. No algorithm. No performative bullshit. NO FUCKING AI. None of that. Just using the internet the way it was meant to be used: as a communication tool for people to share their thoughts and make cool stuff. I'll check my inbox once a week. Maybe if it gets enough interest, I might bring back the old mailbag segment that I stopped doing because I got lazy.
